Second Harvest is the largest food rescue organization in Canada and a global thought leader on food recovery with a dual mission of environmental protection and hunger relief.

Through direct delivery and our online platform FoodRescue.ca we recover nutritious, unsold food and redistribute it to a broad network of social service organizations across Canada. Our free, essential service helps nourish people through school programs, seniors’ centres, shelters, food banks, and regional food hubs.

We work across the supply chain from farm to retail to capture surplus food before it ends up in landfill and negatively impacts our environment. Since 1985 we have rescued and delivered more than 173 million pounds of food, preventing over 262 million pounds of greenhouse gas equivalents from entering our atmosphere.
