BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner exists to address the root causes of inequality, discrimination and injustice in B.C. by shifting laws, policies, practices and cultures. We do this work through education, research, advocacy, inquiry and monitoring.

Reporting to the Manager, Engagement, the Engagement Advisor is responsible for implementing a provincial engagement plan at the regional level using a human rights-based approach and decolonizing principles, ensuring alignment with the Education and Engagement department’s and BCOHRC’s strategic priorities. The Engagement Advisor builds and maintains relationships with communities and stakeholders in the non-profit, public, Indigenous and private sectors and builds public literacy in human rights through learning and advocacy.
