Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the recruitment process as well as employee data analytics, and onboarding/offboarding in the Physical Resources Department. The Human Resources Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent by tracking vacancies, submitting request to hire packages, screening candidates, conducting preliminary telephone interviews, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates, and requesting hiring packages in a timely manner. An essential element of this position is the ability to conduct effective interviews using competency-based models. The incumbent will be required to participate on hiring committees, providing expertise, support and guidance to other committee members who may be unfamiliar with hiring processes. This position will also be required to assist managers and directors with the completion of Job Fact Sheets and CUPE job descriptions, and responses to job questionnaires for several bargaining groups, such as the new Job Information Questionnaire for USW. Ad-hoc assignments to support the Human Resources Department and Operations Department strategies and objectives, as required.
